Resarch Interests
A broad range of topics in Coordination Chemistry is covered. Projects currently underway include:
Synthetic efforts are going to make High-Spin Complexes (Ferromagnetic Inorganic Materials-Single Molecule Magnets) and Molecular Electronic Devices (Valence - Tautomeric Interconversion).
Novel Metal Complexes of Symmetrical and Non-Symmetrical Tetradentate Schiff Bases are designed and synthesized. In a comparative Studies the Solute-Solvent Interaction and Intermolecular Dynamic of these Complexes with ligands on axial site are being pursued . In parallel the Solvatochromism and related Chromotropic behaviors of Co (II), Ni (II) ,Cu (II) species is investigated.
Structural Relevance of Mixed-Donor Macrocyclic Co (II) Complex to Chromotropism also of interest.
Probing the use of new Transition Metal Complexes of Mixed-donor Asymmetric Schiff Base Ligands with a View of Creating Catalytic of Broad Applicability.
Reversible Oxygen Adducts Formation in Cobalt (II) Mixed Ligands and Aminoacids is being studied.
A variety of Interactions between Transition Metal Ions and Bio-Molecules are also of interest .
