Arafeh bigdeli received her B.Sc. degree in pure Chemistry (2009) and M.Sc. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemometrics (2011) from Sharif University of Technology. She started her PhD program under supervision of Dr. Hormozi-Nezhad, studying nano-QSAR and developing structure-activity relationships at the nano-bio interface. Her dissertation explores how measured biological activity profiles of nanoparticles are related to their physicochemical properties. Her research interest is in chemometrics and bioinformatics, image processing, risk assessment of nanoparticles, nano-descriptors and protein corona. She is also interested in probing how protein corona dictates the biological behaviour of nanoparticles, as a collaboration with Tehran University of Medical Sciences under supervision of Dr. M. Mahmoudi. Beside her scientific life, she enjoys hiking and backpacking.
Forough was born in Karaj, Iran. She obtained her BSc Applied Chemistry degree at Kharazmi University in 2006 and her MSc Analytical Chemistry degree in 2012 with a dissertation entitled “Determination of Protein Absorption Profile at the Surface of Biocompatible Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles using Gel Electrophoresis”. In 2016, she received her PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry at Sharif University with the focus on the synthesis of metal nanoparticles and quantum dots for sensing applications and designing of sensor arrays for classification and detection of metallic nanoparticles and some biomolecules such as catecholamine neurotransmitters, biothiols and enantiomers. She started her Postdoctoral position at Sharif University in collaboration with Tehran University of Medical Science (2016). Currently, her research is focusing on nanoparticle arrays on surfaces for optical and sensor application.
